why were black men willing to fight for the unification of the country?

They knew that if the were to join the war, they would be helping out the country by alot. We know this because ever sense the Emancipation Proclamationwere authorized to enlist black troops.

In the year 1863 when all of this was happening, their war end was not going to well, so they knew that if they were to have the black troops help out, they would give them a huge boost.
