Why is Ca + NaCl -> Ca(NaCl)2?

it's either not Ca(NaCl)2 or you have to balance the equation by making NaCl as 2NaCl

so Ca + NaCl = CaCl + Na
or Ca + 2NaCl = Ca(NaCl)2
